Snow Day in NYC 02.26.2010

February 26, 2010 was a Snow Day for NYC. NYC Public Schools closed for the day. I took some shots of the storm in the morning- when everything was still fresh and untouched, like 7am. I'm posting this at 10pm (NYC Time) most of the snow has turned black and slushy from all the people and cars trekking through it.

Taxi driving by. There is a Yellow Taxi Hub on the corner of my block- and there were ALOT of Taxi's parked today around the neighborhood.

This is what I saw when I awoke this morning.

My Fire Escape.

Close up of Snow on my window and the Firehouse in the background.

some snowed in cars.

Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair Coming in June

I'm thinking about applying to get a booth at the Brooklyn Renegade Craft Fair. It will be my first one. I went last year with my little sister and we both LOVED it! We were equally excited about having a booth there one day and inspired to go home and get creative! It's when I really started to make different jewelry pieces. But if I get accepted into this craft fair I want to focus on my mirrors and light switches. If I knew how to sew- or learn how to sew by then- I want to make shower curtains too! Im so nervous and can't decide! I'll keep ya'll posted but here is the info for the Craft Fair.

"We will be headed back east for The 6th Annual Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn on June 5 + 6, 2010, in Williamsburg’s beautiful McCarren Park! This craft, art, design and DIY spectacular will run from 11am – 7pm each day + feature over 250 of today’s finest indie-craft talents from all over the nation!

The Renegade Craft Fair is always FREE TO ATTEND!"

Up Close Look at Lady Gaga's Shoes at the 2010 Grammy's

I'm so in love with Lady Gaga's platform shoes she wore at the 2010 Grammy Awards. Of course for the life of me I would never be able to walk in them! I can barely walk in tall wedges! lol- sad I know- I make up for it with my personality :-)

I love all the sparkles! And after seeing this picture I totally understand how she was ABLE to walk in them- there is some type of support in there. Watching the TV from my couch, I thought she was relying solely on her tip toes. I know this is not any easier. Pic available via ::Click Here::

I threw this picture in here bc look! Its a whole one piece- If I would not have stumbled on this picture I would have never known. I guess they chose that particular color for her hair bc it symbolizes the sun?

Sellz Couture Reflections Collection Compact Mirrors

All these mirrors are part of the Sellz Couture line because of the designs.

This has to be my favorite mirror of the bunch! It's the first one I made that sparked my whole "Sellz Couture" Line. I LOVE the Rhinestone trim along the heart edge. Its altered with a chunky silver glitter. Aluminum Roses and pink Rhinestones complete this look.

*ON HOLD* Purple and Blue Heart Mirror. It features an elegant blue cameo cabochon surrounded by aluminum roses and rhinestones. This one is made with a very fine purple glitter.

*ON HOLD* Purple Compact Mirror with Aluminum Purple Roses, Purple Rhinestones and Clear Heart Rhinestone. Made with mod podge glitter and creativity.

This mirror could not be any more perfect! It is a beautiful, shimmery, fine blue glitter with Rhinestones and aluminum flowers on on the lower right side of the Oval shaped mirror.

Altered Compact or Pocket Mirrors

All of these mirrors are ONE of a kind.

I used resin for this one. I cut out a circle of Blue Leopard Print paper for the background and sprinkled glitter inside of the resin while mixing it. It's a print that is VERY in right now.

*SOLD* This Lime Green mirror is altered with acrylic paint. I used Mod Podge to adhere and seal the lime green paper background and to adhere the Lime Green Rhinestones.

"Rhinestones All Over Me" I love this one- because it is SO pink! This one was made before I fell in Love with Mod Podge, so I used my Hot Glue Gun to adhere the Rhinestones. It is so much LESS forgiving than the Mod Podge. I like using the MP because if I make a mistake or need to mve the peices around it gives me about a minute to do so! I adhered a plaid background paper in the back- really to cover up the imperfections of the mirror.

Smitten Heart Mirror. I designed this background with Photoshop. I sprinkled glitter along the edges to outline the words Smitten.

Smitten Mirror. I used resin mixed with glitter to seal this one.
